Tiffany Park students love Popcorn Friday, and so do we!

We love seeing the joy on students' faces

as we hand over a freshly popped bag of popcorn.

FEBRUARY UPDATE:

Popcorn Fridays continue to be a success in 2024.  Thank you to all the volunteers that make it happen every Friday.  There are still available spots and no experience needed.  Click here to volunteer. 

We are looking to transition to a new popcorn chair for the 2024-2025 school year.  If you are interested in this position, please contact tiffanyparkpopcorn@gmail.com.  We want to make sure popcorn Fridays continue to be a success and have this position filled prior to the next school year.   The position has a small time commitment and comes with lots of smiles, hugs and appreciation from the students. 

 

HOW IT WORKS:

The Tiffany Park PTA fires up our popcorn machine most Fridays of the school year and we start poppin'. As the students finish up their lunch, we walk around the lunchroom and sell fresh bags of popcorn. If students want popcorn, they simply give us $0.50 or a Popcorn Coupon (see below).

SPECIAL OCASSIONS - LARGE PURCHASES:

Want to celebrate a birthday or give students a special treat? You can purchase popcorn for your student’s entire class.  Reach out to your student’s teacher to let them know you would like to purchase the class popcorn and get a class head count.  Email the Popcorn Chair with your student’s class and the head count by Thursday afternoon. Payment can be sent with your student on Popcorn Friday.

 POPCORN COUPONS:

Tired of hunting for quarters???  You can pre-purchase popcorn coupons!  Each coupon is valid for 1 bag of popcorn.  Students present a coupon on Popcorn Friday and receive a bag of popcorn. If you choose not to order coupons, your student can still bring $0.50 on Popcorn Friday and purchase popcorn.  Order forms can be found here:  Popcorn Coupon Order Form

VOLUNTEERS

The special ingredient in our popcorn is the parent volunteers that run the machine during lunch. The typical time commitment is from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. To make each Popcorn Friday possible, we need at least two volunteers (3 volunteers is best), if we don’t have volunteers sign up, we cancel.  No experience is necessary – we make sure to have an experienced person helping each Friday.

In order to volunteer, you must have a cleared WA state background check on file with the Renton School District. You will need to complete the RSD volunteer application. All applications and background checks are good for 2 years. You will need to have this completed at least a day before your volunteer shift.

Please give it a try – it is a wonderful way to meet other Tiffany Park parents as well as spend time getting to know the students and staff at Tiffany Park!  Your student(s) receive free popcorn on any day you volunteer.  Your student(s) will love seeing you at lunch.
